Circus

We took the kids to the Shrine circus this weekend. This was Ryan's third time (thanks to Grandpa) and he was super excited. A funny clown had some fun playing hide & seek with him as soon as we got inside the lobby - he got a kick out of that! We saw acrobats, dancing bears, magic with poodles and most exciting - TIGERS!! At about the 2 hour mark the kids had enough so we left. I was disappointed that there were no elephants! Oh well - maybe next time!!

Sunday morning at the playground

The weather is finally nice - 70's and 80's this weekend. We enjoyed the morning at the playground! Here are some pix.

Ryan is hiding on his sister! :-)
It's more fun climbing UP the slide than going down!

Playing in the dirt

The weather was pretty nice this week (50's and 60's) so we all ventured outside to play in the dirt and rocks - fun for the kids, lots of laundry for mom!

Ryan climbing on the rocks - and yes, the digger behind him was in action
about 100ft from where we were playing.

Here is a video of Ryan, Gavin, Jessica and Isabelle dancing to the Polar Express. Who says it has to be Christmas to listen to this CD!!

Ryan's First Baseball Game

Six weeks of instructional baseball culminated in our little slugger's first game. He had a triple and a double in his debut. Video evidence of the triple is below:

And here are some other pics from the day:

He finally earned his baseball cards!

Hello Family & Friends!

We're finally joining the blogosphere. This will be a simple blog to update family and friends on what's going on with us. For starters, here's what's been going on recently....

Minivan (gack!)

Well, I(Scott) finally broke down and we got ourselves a minivan. My domestication is now complete. In all honesty, I really like it. After much deliberation we decided to go with the Honda Odyssey. Price was a definite consideration, but overall the features and drivability are just what we need. Now we don't have to worry about paying for airline tickets when we take our family vacation to Myrtle Beach in August. Whew. Now if gas prices could just go back to what they were... oh well.

House

We live on West Ham Circle- not "Pressed Ham", "Canned ham", "Honey Ham" but West Ham. Thanks dad - those are funny - and I'm sure you will continue to come up with creative names. :-)

Now, for what's going on at West Ham Circle. We have some new neighbors, bringing the population of our block to 3 homes. Our newest neighbors have 4 kids, so our kids will have some playmates once the nicer weather arrives (/taps foot inpatiently).

We also have a next-door neighbor, or rather a next-door hole in the ground. Yep, the basement has been dug and after living for 4 months with nobody next door, the hole seems awfully close. I suppose we'll get used to it.

As of yesterday we have 3 rooms painted, with the addition of the first floor powder room. For the smallest room in the house, it took longer than either of the kids' rooms because of all the prep work. yay. No pictures yet, but if you haven't yet seen the kids' rooms, here they are.

That's all for now. We've got a mystery to solve.
